In this advanced course, trainees develop greater understanding of upstream processing techniques with a particular focus on emerging trends and disruptive technologies. Course content is tailored toward mammalian cell lines, with a larger focus placed on suspension and intensified systems. Learning achieved by lectures, classroom activities and laboratory demonstrations.

At the end of this course, trainees will:

  • Have a deeper understanding of the theory behind upstream bioprocessing techniques.

  • Increase their own awareness of disruptive technologies and emerging industry trends.

  • Understand how to apply this knowledge by designing a process flow diagram for production of an example therapeutic.

Includes VR taining experience and digital knowledge assessment and feedback platform.
