The RESILIENCE Medicines Manufacturing Skills Centre of Excellence is a partnership between the University of BirminghamUniversity College London,Heriot-Watt University, Teesside University and Britest Limited.

The Centre brings together leading regional training providers to support the UK life sciences workforce by delivering high quality training and outreach, spanning the entire careers pipeline for industry, academia, and the NHS.

Adopting a co-ordinated and scalable approach to skills development, the Centre comprises a network of academic delivery partners with an unrivalled track record for delivering training for the medicines manufacturing community.

Drawing on our existing infrastructure for rapid operationalisation, we are building onto them new approaches such as:

  • Co-created, co-branded core materials for training and outreach that are readily scalable across the UK.

  • Digital training approaches including cutting edge virtual reality and mixed reality to enable standardisation and consistency across our network.

  • Accelerator programmes for T-level students, undergraduate placement students, graduates and CPD trainees, and apprenticeship cohort activities, supporting all career entry points.

An end to end network connecting UK schools, colleges, and industry

Students can benefit from the RESILIENCE Centre through free resources to inspire a future generation of medicine makers. RESILIENCE aims to provide teaching and outreach materials to 150 schools, colleges and universities for free, enabling them to become affiliate members of the RESILIENCE network, as well as nurturing the talent pipeline for the medicines manufacturing sector through education, mentoring and outreach.
